Well just a few days to go until the fast motorsport on earth returns to Santa Pod. Weather forecast is looking so lets hope the championship finale is a great one... From me I wish all competitors, staff and spectators a safe and enjoyable weekend...

Well a fine sunny bank holiday weekend and were hoping that the weather is similar in a couple of weeks time for the European Finals.
Just a quick note as I hear that "Team Beige" have finally arrived in Mongolia.. Well done Graham, Shaun and Beige for getting there.... Graham and Shaun are both in one piece, poor Beige is not so good but will start its new life in Mongolia with the rear axle held on by rope and a scissor jack.

Hello folks... Hope your enjoying the summer...
Just checking in to plug my good friend Graham's (Chuck) website www.mongogolia.com He and his co driver Shaun are taking part in the London to Mongolia rally in 1litre, 22 year old Nissan Micra. 6-10 thousand mile drive in around 4-5 weeks!!!! I wish them all the luck.. And bid them a safe journey and return. Please visit their site..

Sadly it looks though the rain is the real winner at this weekends Main Event at the Pod. Sunday was a total washout and the forecast for Monday is much of the same. I haven't even bothered getting the camera's ready for what I was hoping would be a great Main Event..
We hear that Saturday was a tough day for Fuel Cars in qualification, with only the second round of qualifying producing anything like the normal times and speeds. I really feel for all those people who are staying over at Santa Pod at the moment, I hope you are trying to keep warm and dry.
European Finals now seems a long way away.... =(
BalearicBreakdown.com have announced some new dates for their IBIZA DANCE PARTIES at the "The Well" music venue in Luton. We have uploaded their latest flyer which can be found here Entry once again is FREE !!!! and the guys have informed me that the most kicking IBIZA tunes are in the record boxes.
We wish them luck with their latest dates....

Ok.. I don't check in as much as I used to... But its that time of year again when the camera's get to play with dragsters. The Main Event is just a week away and I'm hoping to make it down to the pod on one day over the weekend. As per last year I'm still dogged by balance problems that have made life hell for the past 4 years. Although I'm now much better than I have been, due to lots of work by the various NHS departments that I'm seeing.
Anyway enough about that.. Lets hope the Main Event will live up to previous years and give up some great pictures.
Frequent visitors to this site may have noticed some strange additions like flyers for dance parties etc. These come from our friends at BalearicBreakdown.com who asked if we could help put their good name around via some promotion. In return I got a couple of CD's of their sets that they knockout at said dance parties. I'm must admit they really have some excellent DJ's judging by what I heard and can imagine that the nights they promote at "The Well" Music Venue in Luton are excellent. I'm told their website is due for upgrade, but the current one give you all the details needed on how to Return to that Ibiza Spirit...

Well... A belated Happy New Year to you all.... I hope Santa bought you what you wanted and that 2007 turns out to be a great year for our favorite motorsport.
Not much to report from this side other than we shall be adding lots more websites to Draglinks.co.uk over the next few weeks.
I decided after long deliberation (about 2 minutes) to change some of lenses that have been so trusty over the past 5 years, being let down by one aged lens was time enough to make some changes pre season.. Of course I still stayed with Minolta (although they no longer exsist in photography) as the plan is to add the next new Sony DSLR body to the stable when it released in Summer / Autumn. So a new fast wide-angle and long zoom are now in use and getting worn-in before the first outing of the year.
Our ISP HostingBegins.com has moved us onto one of their new servers and allowed us more bandwidth and web space for our minimal fee that we pay them. I would advise anyone looking for a web-host to contact them as they are just awesome...
Finally.. I think Andy Carters Lucas paint job looks superb.. Bet he wishes it will go a good as it looks.... lol...
See you soon

You will see that our normal links page is no longer present on this site. This is because a site that was planned and created 2 years ago is finally being uploaded. www.draglinks.co.uk should hopefully be "the" gateway to pretty much anything to do with drag racing in Europe... Finer details on how the site will work will be posted soon. Whilst this is happening if you would like to get your site added to Draglinks.co.uk, please email details to us from the addresses on the contacts page. All existing links from Nitro-Burners links will be checked and uploaded first, any reciprocal links will take precedence.

Just a quick note to say thanks to all of you who visited this site last month. It was a record breaking month for us visits, pages, hits and bandwidth wise.. So much so that our web-host HostingBegins.com had to extend our bandwidth and is in the process of moving our site on to a bigger and faster server (Thank Richey!!!) A massive thanks should also got out to Tog and Sharkman at Eurodragster for their promotion of our Euro-Finals pics... Tog also noted that our prediction that Dave Wilson would get a Top Fuel drive this year didn't come up trumps... (Thanks for the reminder Tog!!!!)...
11/09/06 Post Euro-Finals update.
What a fantastic end to the pro season, I'm sure it will go down as probably one of the best ever events at the Pod. We are in the process of posting our pics on the site, I shot around 250 of which about 120 will be posted. For the first time ever I traveled light on kit, 1 lens - 1 Camera. Gremilins struck the sole lens and made the focus ring almost impossible to move.. (*%$£!!!) Hence a fault with the sole lens put paid to a number of the pics.. Large resolution versions of all our pics can be made available should anybody need them...
Despite the fault it was great to get out and shoot some pics for the first time this year.. Let hope to get some more next season.. Special thanks to Oz for the transport to the Pod and back and to Mo for the sarnies...
On a somber note, our thoughts go out to the spectator who was sadly killed by what is being reported as a freak accident whilst enjoying the day.. Our thoughts also go out to his family and to the teams, staff involved...
07/09/06 Pre Euro-finals update.
So here we are again almost at the end of the pro-racing year, just this weekends European Finals left. The weather forecast looks great for some very fast times, the track should be warmed by the Autumn sun and the cool air should help bring up the BHP's.
I'm hoping to make the Finals on Sunday's, unfortunately this year I have again been dogged by poor balance problems that have meant missing out on all the action thus far. I have just renewed subs for this site for 2007 in anticipation that next season I shall get to make it to more events. I shall post any pictures I get here a few days after the finals...
So lets hope the weather is as kind as predicted, and that we can all enjoy the spectacular that can be only described as "The Greatest Racing on Earth!!!".
Please also note that I have now removed all the large pictures from this site of the 2003 SRS series. This is to save some server space thus allowing new pictures and projects to appear here later on. I have left the thumbnails on the site for reference, should you wish to see any of those pictures please email me from the contacts page..

Happy New Year to you all...
Sounds like the 2006 season could be the best ever with both Andy Carter and Tommy Moller both putting out two Top Fuel cars - Good luck guys.... (Especially to Rob Turner and Hakan for taking the pilots seat on the teams second cars...) If were lucky we may see a 16 car field yet !!! Can you imagine 15 or 16 cars qualifying for 8 car eliminations??? Dunno about you but I'm getting excited already !!!
I shall leave you with this to think over "If I were a gambler I would put money on Dave Wilson getting a Top Fuel ride before the season starts...."

We are proud to announce that for the 2006 season we will be sponsored by www.solargoodies.co.uk The UK's best source of solar powered garden goods.. So thanks Boss (As I actually work for the parent company)... Some of you racers may want to take a look at the solar powered battery charger on offer, what a great way of keeping that sleeping dragsters battery topped up for a mere £20.00 !!!
You can also send us news items to post on this site if you wish...... Post them to gus@nitro-burners.com
